My passion has and always will be health, fitness and nutrition. Ever since I can remember, I have been an active person and have enjoyed feeling good physically and mentally. I was blessed in this area because my family and I spent a lot of our time being active, going camping and playing sports. It has always been natural for me to love being active and have abundant energy. I believe that health is the most important aspect of life. Without it, you will never reach your full potential in any facet of your life. Your level of health affects not only your physical well-being, but also your sense of self worth, emotional health, and social relationships. This is precisely why pursuing studies in health and wellness has been my life’s goal.
I studied Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. I decided to further my education by applying for the Athletic Therapy Certificate Stream, a very exclusive program which only took on 15 students a year! I spent the next few years fully engaged in studies about health, human movement and rehabilitation. I graduated with an Honours Degree in Kinesiology and Health Science, and soon became certified as an Athletic Therapist. I graduated after 5 years of studies and became a Kinesiologist treating and training various types of clients, from patients with lower disc herniation to elite athletes.

What I took away from this experience was the joy of genuinely helping people to perform and feel better. I also found that I thoroughly enjoyed teaching people about their bodies and health. I felt like I had a whole wealth of knowledge to share and wanted everyone to know it, so I took a job in teaching at a private career college. I quite enjoyed teaching, but quickly felt the urge to continue applying what I knew, since my passion has always been personal training. I knew that smart exercise with proper nutrition and mobility techniques would help most people recover from injuries, allowing them to improve the quality of their lives and become more fit then they could have ever imagined.
The next breakthrough for me came when I began studying in-depth ancestral nutrition and fitness. This provided me with the missing pieces of holistic health. I began personally training people using these methods and soon became certified in Personal Training under the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I shortly discovered another great kept secret that has been around for over 300 years … Kettlebell training. I learned everything I could about this neo-ancient system and began implementing it into the exercise regimes of many clients with overwhelmingly positive results. It worked amazingly and they loved it! I added to my certifications by becoming a Golf Fitness Specialist (GFS), Senior Fitness Specialist (SFS) and a Fitness Nutrition Specialist (FNS) through NASM.

What I discovered next would help me understand the link between the mental and physical aspects of fitness and, in turn, help my clients persevere through anything. I began learning and becoming a student of personal development and achievement. I learned that people develop paradigms (preconceived ideas) that govern everything in their lives. These paradigms are developed through habit and conditioning. These habits control people’s behaviours and lifestyles without their awareness. I learned how to overcome my own bad habits and achieve my desired goals. This conditioning of one’s mind can lead to, what we like to call, “mind frictions”, which negatively control our behaviour. My own mind frictions soon became manageable with specific techniques that I began to employ. This is why I now utilize a high accountability system and a repertoire of mental re-conditioning skills to help my clients achieve the results they desire … no question!
I have an interest and passion in helping people reach their goals and have paradigm shifts about health and wellness. It is why I do what I do and why I keep improving my knowledge base with on-going learning. I share my continued knowledge with others in order to empower them. I only have fulfillment when my clients have results that they are happy with.
